Social Profiles

I am a Master’s graduate in Computer Science from University at Buffalo, State University of New York. I have 4+ years of industry experience in Software Engineering, during which I have developed applications using Java (Spring), JavaScript (React, AngularJs, Node.js), and C# (ASP.NET Web API). I am currently based in bay area and working as a Software Engineer at Williams Sonoma.

I have worked as a Full Stack Developer with OpenMessage where I have developed web applications using React, Node.js and MongoDB. I had previously interned as a Full stack developer at Switchfly where I was working with Java, Coldfusion, and PostgreSQL. During my time as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, I had an opportunity to hone my skills in C#, Entity Framework and ASP.NET Web API.

Skills I've Acquired

AngularJS / React

I have worked with Javascript Frameworks like AngularJS and React to develop Single Page web applications.

I have used Node.js, a JavaScript runtime environment to develop I/O intensive single-page Airbnb like web application

HTML5 / CSS3 / Bootstrap

My passion as a developer lies in the web development area, from a very young age. I have developed many applications using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap till now.

I worked at OpenMessage as a Full Stack Developer where my primary focus was web development using various javascript frameworks. My latest work has also allowed me to solidify my experience in JavaScript

I have extensive experience working with Spring Framework developing web applications on top of the Java EE platform

While working for Microsoft, I have used ASP.NET Web API Framework for building RESTful web API on top of the .NET Framework.

I have used Mongoose as an object modeling package for Node which essentially worked like an ORM that allowed me to have access to the MongoDB commands

Agile Development

I thrive in an AGILE environment and have experience running and managing scrums, backlogs and sprints.

MSSQL / PostgreSQL

While working at Microsoft I had used Entity Framework as an Object Relational Mapping (ORM) framework for storing and accessing the data in the MSSQL database. I have also used PostgreSQL for back-end querying while interning at Switchfly.

Tools I'm Used To With

  • Eclipse IDE
  • Apache Solr
  • VIM Editor
  • Apache Tomcat
  • Visual Studio
  • Team Foundation Server
  • Git
  • Android Studio
  • IntelliJ IDEA
  • Wireshark
  • Sublime Text 3
  • Gulp

Software Engineer

Developed a RESTful web service that implements OAuth 2.0 authorization framework and acts as the authentication and authorization service for the WSI’s eCommerce websites to access customer information

Upgraded WSI’s micro services hosting protected resources to support OAuth2.0 security

Created an environment with multiple services which simulates a number of WSI’s enterprise and external systems. It is used for separating a newly developed service under test from its external dependencies

Developed a RESTful web service for retrieving data that is available to tests and simulators as a source of stable, reliable data

Improved WSI’s Java proprietary framework that relies on Selenium WebDriver to facilitate browser automation tests

Academic Projects

Airbnb Simulation with Auction

Mongo, Express, AngularJS, Node.js, RabbitMQ | Fall 2016

Developed a single page Airbnb like web application with functionalities like booking, searching, auctioning, posting a property and bill generation.

Implemented Map Interaction using google Maps API and Performance enhancement using RabbitMQ.

Simple Amazon Dynamo - Replicated Key Value Storage

Java, Android, Socket Programming | Spring 2016

Designed and implemented a simplified Amazon Dynamo like Android application which covers ID space partitioning/repartitioning, ring based routing, node joins, Quorum replication with replication degree 3 and data recovery from replicated storage after failure.

The main goal is to provide both availability and linealizability at the same time.

Predicting Diabetes condition in Patients

Python, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib | Spring 2016

Predicted the probability of patient having Diabetes using five machine learning techniques a) LDA &QDA, b) Linear Regression, c) Ridge Regression, d) Ridge Regression using Gradient Descent and e) Non-Linear Regression

Handwritten Digits Classification

Python, NumPy, SciPy | Spring 2016

Implemented a Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network to classify handwritten digits in MNIST dataset. Applied parametric variation in terms of hidden nodes and learning rate.

Feed forward and back propagation algorithm incorporating regularization were used to fine tune the neural network layers iteratively resulting in an optimal accuracy of 94.4% on test dataset.

Android Group Messenger

Java, Android, Socket Programming | Spring 2016

Developed an android group messenger application implementing Basic Multicast, Total and FIFO ordering of messages.

Implemented node failure handling to preserve ordering of messages.

Multilingual Search Engine for Tweets

Java, Apache Solr, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap | Fall 2015

Collected tweets in 5 different languages by crawling the Twitter API using twitter4j. Tokenized and Indexed ~12000 tweets in Apache Solr.

Performed cross lingual analysis by leveraging language detection, query translation, query expansion and field boosting.

Implemented the UI using Bootstrap to display query results based on ranking scheme selected by user.
